It was yellow as are most Cubs. We were living on a farm northeast of Plover, Iowa. My uncle Lawrence owned the farm to the west of us and my grandfather owned the farm to the south of us. I was about 5 years old at the time. One summer day, out of the clear blue sky, the most amazing thing I had ever seen up to that time in my young life, was when my mother's uncle, a farmer and pilot, flew over our house, circled, and then landed in the alfalfa field. The thing I remember most was that this big yellow thing seemed to just float in the air.
